Nate Martinez is a Brooklyn-based musician, producer, engineer, composer, and sound artist whose work spans rock, indie, folk, electronic, ambient, and experimental music. Trained in jazz, he has built a wide-ranging career as a guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist, producer, mixer, engineer, and sound designer. Martinez has worked with artists such as Bob Weir and The National, among others, bringing his range as a performer, producer, and engineer to projects across rock, indie, folk, electronic, and ambient music.
Alongside his recording career, he has become an influential voice in sound meditation, using sound as a tool for mindfulness, deep listening, and reflection through his work with NTM Sound. His recent practice has focused increasingly on ambient music and immersive sound.
Most recently, Martinez contributed a sound art piece to Denniston Hill’s installation at the 2026 Venice Biennale, bringing his exploration of atmosphere, attention, and deep listening into the context of contemporary art.
